Technical Requirements

- You must have a supported device, which currently includes the following devices:
• BlackBerry® Torch™ 9800
- You must have a MicroSD card to store movies (1 GB or higher is recommended)
- You must have access to a Wi-Fi connection to download movies. Once movies are downloaded a Wi-Fi connection is not needed.
- Your device must be running a supported operating system.
- Your device must have App World 2.1 or above.

Pocket Cinema is currently only available in the UK.
Wi-Fi

You can browse the catalog anywhere, but currently Pocket Cinema only uses Wi-Fi for actual downloads. This will ensure that you do not incur large data charges.

Your Wi-Fi might not be turned on. Please consult your device's operating instructions to set up Wi-Fi. The particular configuration details, including username and password if necessary, will depend on the Wi-Fi network.

Yes, you can watch movie trailers without Wi-Fi. Please keep in mind that you may result in additional data charges, depending on your billing plan.
Using Pocket Cinema

Yes. You can browse the catalog anywhere, but movies will only download over Wi-Fi.

This application must be used with a MicroSD card. Because these are movies, Pocket Cinema requires a MicroSD card to function. We recommend a card of at least 1 GB in size, which will allow you to store approximately three movies.

No. Movies are only viewable through the Pocket Cinema service.

No. Due to DRM restrictions movies are only available to be viewed through the Pocket Cinema application.

After renting a movie, you have 30 days to begin watching it. Once you have started watching, you have 48 hours to finish watching it. You can view the movie multiple times within the 48 hour window.

Currently, Pocket Cinema only uses Wi-Fi to transfer movies.
Please note that if you browse the catalog while not in a Wi-Fi zone, you may incur small data charges from transferring the movie descriptions.

Please re-install Pocket Cinema on your new device by re-downloading it from App World. You will also have to re-download any movies which were stored on your MicroSD card, as your previous downloads will not be compatible with the new device.

For BlackBerry® smartphones choose "Options", then "Status". Your PIN will appear on the resulting page.

Your organization may have an IT Policy which prevents you from using Pocket Cinema. Please contact your BES Administrator.

The number of movies that will fit will vary dependent on the length of the movie and the size of your Micro SD card. We recommend a card of at least 1 GB in size, which will allow you to store approximately three movies.

Your device may be in "Mass Storage Mode", which disables your MicroSD card. Please ensure that Mass Storage Mode is turned off.

Downloading

Your download might have failed due to lack of Wi-Fi coverage, or a low battery. Please try re-downloading the movie when you have adequate Wi-Fi coverage and battery charge. You can download a movie multiple times without any charge for 30 days after renting it.

No. However, if you already have movies downloaded, you can still watch them while traveling.

Movies should typically download in 20-30 minutes via Wi-Fi, depending on the speed of your connection. If you are low on battery power, movies may transfer more slowly.

You can download as many movies as you like. They will transfer in the order you selected them. Keep in mind that you need to have enough space on your MicroSD card in order to hold all the movies you download.

Your movie may have expired. You have 30 days after renting a movie to start watching it. Once you've started watching, you have 48 hours to finish watching it.

If you pause a download, it will never restart automatically. You must resume the download yourself.

Individual movie files are approximately 300 mega bytes.
